Lehigh to Welcome American in Pink Out Game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's basketball team picked up its second straight win on Wednesday at Navy and will look to keep it rolling when the Mountain Hawks take on American on Saturday at 4 p.m. in their Pink Out Game presented by Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute. Any cancer survivors are invited to claim a free ticket at the door, and all others can get a $4 ticket at the door if you are wearing pink.Â
The Mountain Hawks defeated Navy 72-38 Wednesday night in Annapolis, Md. After a close first half, Lehigh held Navy to just 15 points in the second half. Not only did Lehigh get the win, but several personal milestones were hit. Mackenzie Kramer recorded her 1,000th point and became the 23rd player in program history to reach the mark, while Frannie Hottinger grabbed her 500th rebound. Hottinger is now just one of 10 players in program history to score 1,000 points and grab 500 rebounds. Hottinger finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Lily Fandre and Jamie Behar also both tallied 11 points.Â
Lehigh comes into the game with a 13-12 overall record (9-5 PL), and American is 6-19 (5-9 PL). The Mountain Hawks sit in third place right now and are just one game behind Holy Cross, which sits in second. The Eagles are in eighth place in the Patriot League. They are coming off of a loss to Bucknell Wednesday night.Â
In the first meeting, Lehigh got the best of American, beating the Eagles 79-77 at Bender Arena on Jan. 14. Hottinger had a game-high of 26 points in that meeting. Lehigh shot 36 free throws in that game, and Hotitnger accounted for 14 of Lehigh's 28 made free throws.Â
American is led by Emily Johns, who averages 13 points per game. Johns had 20 points in the first meeting against Lehigh.Â
Lehigh is 17-36 all-time against the Eagles.
