Lehigh Takes On The Princeton Chase On Sunday
11/3/2023 2:55:00 PM | Men's Rowing, Women's Rowing
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After months of preparation, Lehigh rowing will travel east this upcoming Sunday to participate in the Princeton Chase. The event is one of the most prominent fall collegiate races in the country, and Steven J. '69 and Karen A. Lee Head Rowing Coach Peter Costas' team is ready for the chance to compete.
"We're excited for an opportunity to test our speed and return to the Princeton 3 Mile Chase this coming weekend," said Costas. "It was an adjustment for our team to compete in this environment last year for the first time, and I felt they responded to the challenge well and went back to the drawing board with good perspective."
The Princeton Chase will mark the first official competition against other schools for Lehigh this school year. The men's team has traveled to Rutgers for a joint practice/scrimmage and both teams were in action for Lehigh's annual Class Day Races last weekend. Now, both the men's and women's teams will get the chance to test their skills against quality opponents.
Teams in attendance include the host Princeton, Penn, Drexel, Wisconsin, and Saint Joseph's among many others. Several Patriot League members will be in action at the Chase as well, including Colgate, Holy Cross, Navy and Loyola.
