Lehigh Hosts Cross-Town Foe for Final Regular Season Contest

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Friday's edition of The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute determines the postseason fate of the Mountain Hawks. If Lafayette is victorious, Lehigh will not earn a Patriot League Tournament berth. If the Mountain Hawks earn a victory on Friday, they could clinch the third or fourth seed depending on results around the league.

The Mountain Hawks (9-7, 2-3 PL) went 0-2 last weekend, dropping contests to Bucknell and no. 20 UAlbany. Lehigh looks to get back on track when the Leopards come to Bethlehem on Friday.

Seniors Julia Gatelein (4 goals, 6 assists) and Lotte Smorenburg (5 goals, 4 assists) lead Lehigh with 14 points. Junior Guusje Hogendoorn tallies 10 points with four goals and two assists.

Lafayette (10-5, 4-1 PL) leads the all-time series 41-16-3, with the Mountain Hawks earning a thrilling 3-2 victory last season. Senior Abbie Brown scored all three goals in the victory in Easton. Lehigh has won the last three meetings in the series.
