LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Lehigh field hockey team fell 5-0 to Bucknell on Friday night in Patriot League play.
Junior goalkeeper Jenny Canoni made a career-high 11 saves on the night.
Just 1:25 into the game, Bucknell's Lily Neilson scored her first of the game to give the Bison an early 1-0 lead.
Less than five minutes later the home team struck again as Rachel Apa gave Bucknell a 2-0 lead which carried through the first half.
Two minutes into the second half, Neilson connected for her second of the game to put Bucknell infront 3-0.
In the final quarter, Neilson completed her hattrick and Kira Leclercq capitalized to secure the Bison's 5-0 victory.
Bucknell outshot Lehigh 24-10, with junior Guusje Hoogendoorn leading the way with four shots and sophomore KK Sauve contributing three shots. Bucknell goalkeeper Sarah Althouse recorded four saves.
Lehigh (9-6, 2-3 PL) heads to no. 20 UAlbany on Sunday for a non-conference matchup.
