Lehigh to Square Off With Delaware on Tuesday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's soccer will close out a three-game road swing with a matchup against Delaware on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Tuesday's game will be streamed on FloSports. 

After picking up its first Patriot League win on Sept. 27 in a 2-0 victory versus Colgate, Lehigh dropped a 2-0 game at Navy on Sept. 30.  

Junior goalkeeper Ryan Gross started in net in Lehigh's game against Navy. Gross saved nine shots, which is tied for a career-high. Gross has an .800 save percentage through his two starts this season.  

Entering Tuesday's game, the Mountain Hawks are 2-6-2, and the Blue Hens are 6-2-2. 

The only common opponent this season between Lehigh and Delaware is Loyola. The Blue Hens defeated the Greyhounds 2-0 on Aug. 27. Sam Donnellan scored both goals in the first half. Donnellan scored the first goal on a penalty kick in the 15th minute and another goal in the 27th minute. Lehigh will face Loyola on Oct. 14.

Donnellan is second on the team with 14 points (6G, 2A). Carlos Fernandez is leading the way for the Blue Hens with 15 points (7G, 1A). 

Junior forward Perry Kingson leads the way for Lehigh in points (3G, 1A). Kingson also has a team-high of 18 shots. 

Through 10 games, Lehigh is scoring .80 goals per game and holding team's to 1.40 goals per game. 

Delaware is averaging two goals this season and holding opponents to 1.70 goals per game.

Lehigh leads the all-time series 37-17-5. The Mountain Hawks last played in Bethlehem last season, where Lehigh came out on top 1-0. 

Lehigh returns home to Ulrich Sports Complex on Saturday  at 6 p.m. against Army.
