Mountain Hawks Sweep Lafayette 7-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's tennis team showed no signs of slowing down on Sunday at the Lewis Tennis Center as they swept Lafayette 7-0 in the Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute.
The Mountain Hawks got off to a fast start, sweeping doubles and securing the 1-0 lead going into singles play. Junior Steven Nazaroff and first-year Luke Donovan got the first win of the day for Lehigh at the No. 3 spot. The duo defeated Ross Coleman and Charles Keller 6-2.
Junior Jeremy Learner and first-year Marc Blekhman finished shortly after Nazaroff and Donovan, defeating Lafayette's Josh Wolfe and Nash Lovallo 6-4 to secure the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks. Seniors Zack Elliott and Gary Fishkin completed the doubles sweep for Lehigh, winning 6-3 at the No. 1 spot.
The Mountain Hawks continued to bring the energy in singles play, winning all six matches. Elliott secured Lehigh's first singles win of the day, defeating Arman Ganchi 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot. Fishkin finished closely after Elliott, picking up his tenth win of the season against Nash Lovallo from Lafayette in the third flight.
Learner clinched the win for Lehigh on Saturday, defeating Davis Esslinger 6-4 in two sets. Junior Matt Kleiman picked up his first win at the No. 2 spot on Sunday against the Leopards. Kleiman defeated Josh Wolfe 6-4, 6-1.
Going into the final two doubles match with a 5-0 lead, Lehigh showed no signs of slowing down once again. Junior Michael Bukhalo secured his fifth win of the season against Lafayette's Charles Keller 8-1 at the No. 5 spot. Sophomore Jordan Paul completed the sweep for the Mountain Hawks, defeating Rosse Coleman 8-0 in the sixth flight.
Lehigh will travel to Worcester, Mass. next weekend to battle Holy Cross on Saturday, April 9. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m.
