Lehigh Tops Holy Cross 7-0, Secures Fourth League Win of the Season

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Mountain Hawks picked up their fourth win of league play Saturday night against Holy Cross. Lehigh defeated Holy Cross 7-0 to improve 9-6 overall and 4-1 in league play.
The Mountain Hawks got off to a hot start, sweeping doubles to secure the 1-0 lead. At the No.1 spot, seniors Zack Elliott and Gary Fishkin secured their second doubles win of the season, defeating Declan O'Flynn and Diego Tran Rosado 6-3. Junior Jeremey Learner and first-year Marc Blekhman followed suit, picking up the 6-1 win in the second flight against Connor Nelson and William Kelleher.
Juniors Matt Kleiman and Michael Bukhalo completed the doubles sweep, picking up their fourth doubles win of the season at the No. 3 spot. The duo defeated Holy Cross' Alexander Ruenhorst and Jeremy Clark 7-6 (8-6).
The Mountain Hawks kept the winning momentum the rest of the match, winning all six singles matches. Bukhalo got Lehigh started during singles play, securing the first win of the night. At the No. 5 spot, Bukhalo defeated Holy Cross' Tran Rosado 6-0, 6-2.
Elliott and Fishkin secured their 11th wins of the season during singles play against the Crusaders. Elliott defeated Kelleher 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot while Fishkin defeated Ruenhorst 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot.
Kleiman earned his 10th win of the season, defeating Holy Cross' Mikey Prokopis 6-3, 6-2 in the second flight. Blekhman followed suit, defeating Nelson 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. Sophomore Jordan Paul secured Lehigh's sweep, picking up a win in the sixth flight. Paul defeated O'Flynn 6-4, 6-3.
The Mountain Hawks will return to Bethlehem to play the last two home matches of the season. Lehigh will host Army on Friday, April 15 at 3 p.m. at Ulrich Varsity Courts. The Mountain Hawks will then host Boston University on Sunday, April 17 at 10 a.m. for Senior Day.
