Mountain Hawks Fall to Stony Brook

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh lost its first match of the 2022 season on Saturday at Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks fell to Stony Brook 6-1 in their second match of the season.

The women's team fell behind early with Stony Brook sweeping doubles and taking the point with ease.

First-year Hamsa Javagal was the only Mountain Hawk to finish Saturday's match with a win. At the No. 2 spot Javagal defeated Loreto Rubio 6-4, 2-6, 6-3

Junior Junmoke James and sophomore Anushka Dania each won a set against their opponents but were unable to hold on for a win. James at the No. 1 spot lost 7-6, 4-6 and 6-3 while Dania at the No. 4 spot lost 7-6, 3-6, 10-6.

Up next, the Mountain Hawks will travel to Philadelphia on Sunday to take on Drexel.
