BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's basketball team hasn't looked like itself as of late, falling in each of its previous two matchups as the Mountain Hawks head to Baltimore Saturday to take on Loyola Maryland at 2 p.m.

Lehigh has equaled its season-long two game losing streak following defeats at Holy Cross last weekend and at home against Bucknell on Wednesday. Versus the Bison, the Mountain Hawks failed to reach at least 50 points for the first time this season and at 45 points, scored the program's lowest total since 2018.

Mackenzie Kramer was the lone bright spot on offense for Lehigh, scoring a team-high 16 points on four 3-pointers to lead the way. Megan Walker finished a point shy of her first career double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds while Emma Grothaus recorded a team-high 13 boards with three steals.

The Mountain Hawks shot just 30.8 percent (16-for-52) from the field and 21.4 percent (6-for-28) from long distance. Kramer had four of Lehigh's six 3-pointers on the evening with one each from Walker and Clair Steele. Steele reached the five or more-assist mark for the seventh time this season and first time since getting six vs. Rider on Nov. 27.

Kramer remains in the team lead for scoring with 15.5 points per game this season. Grothaus leads Lehigh in league contests with 13.3 ppg.

As a team, the Mountain Hawks rank in the Top 15 nationally in five statistical categories including free throw percentage (78.5, 11th), personal fouls per game (12.7, 12th), 3-point field goals attempted (441, 8th), 3-point field goals per game (9.6, 9th) and 3-point field goals (144, 11th).

Three games into its Patriot League schedule and Loyola Maryland is still searching for its first victory of the campaign.

The Greyhounds have dropped five straight contests dating back to Dec. 8, 2021 and haven't won since Dec. 4 vs. Mount St. Mary's.

Loyola is last coming off a defeat at Lafayette on Wednesday, falling 48-39. First year Lex Therien shined for the Greyhounds, scoring 16 points with 15 rebounds and two blocks in 37 minutes of action. Three players (Bri Rozzi, Taleah Dixon and Charia Roberts) each tallied five points.

As a team, Loyola struggled from the field, going 11-for-49 (22.4 percent) while shooting just 10 percent (1-for-10) from beyond-the-arc. The Greyhounds did shoot 72.7 percent (16-for-22) from the free throw line.

Therien is the team leader in scoring at 11.8 points per game. She is also averaging 10.3 rebounds per game. Dixon is averaging 11.4 points and 2.5 rebounds, while first year Laura Salmeron is at 9.0 ppg and 3.4 rpg.

Therien has been a bright spot for a team that has won just three games this season and easily could be the frontrunner for Patriot League Rookie of the Year at this present moment. She has been named Rookie of the Week three times this year. She has three straight double-doubles to her name and her 10.3 rebounds lead the league and are 27th in the nation. She is second among first years nationally, trailing only DePaul's Aneesah Morrow (11.9)

The Greyhounds' three wins include home wins over Fairleigh Dickinson, UMBC and Mount St. Mary's.

In 21 all-time meetings, Lehigh leads the series, 14-7 including 10-4 in Patriot League play dating back to the fisrt meeting between the two squads back in 1982.

The Mountain Hawks have come out on top in five straight meetings dating back to Feb. 21, 2018.

Lehigh has not faced Loyola since the 2019-20 season, winning both matchups on the year.
