Lehigh Looks to Continue Momentum at Home vs. Holy Cross Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Standing 2-1-1 in its last four, the Lehigh women's soccer team returns home on Sunday to host Holy Cross. Opening kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on ESPN+. Most recently, the Mountain Hawks picked up a thrilling 2-1 victory at Lafayette, scoring the game-winning goal with just 24 seconds remaining.

Lehigh now stands 1-0-1 in Patriot League play, tied for second in the league standings and only behind 2-0 Bucknell. The Mountain Hawks have scored five goals over their first two league games, tying Army West Point 3-3 in the Patriot League opener. On Wednesday, senior Courtney Supp and sophomore Emma Roesing scored Lehigh's goals, both off beautiful feeds from freshman Corinne Lyght – good for Lyght's first-career points. Sophomore Violette Bonvallet also made five saves, including a huge point-blank stop in the 86th minute to keep the score tied at one.

The Mountain Hawks hope to remain undefeated at home, as they enter Sunday 2-0-1. Lehigh has outscored its opponents 9-3 over those three games, beating defending MAAC Champion Siena (2-0) and Wagner (4-0), while tying Army (3-3).

Holy Cross is 1-8-1 on the season, with its one win coming against Bryant by a 3-0 final. The Crusaders also tied at American, 1-1, while playing other competitive contests – including a 5-3 defeat at Boston College of the ACC. Last time out, Holy Cross fell at home vs. Army, 5-1. Coleen McIlvenna leads the Crusaders in assists (3) and points (7) while Kate Quinn leads the way with three goals. Olivia Dubin has started all 10 games in goal, tallying a 2.79 goals against average and 70.3 save percentage.

The all-time series between Lehigh and Holy Cross is tied at three. The Mountain Hawks have won four straight and didn't square off last spring. In the last meeting, Lehigh won 1-0 behind an early goal from Maggie Wadsworth. Lehigh is 7-1-1 over its last nine in the series, with the only defeat coming in 2014 by a 1-0 final.
