Â
With a 90th-minute throw-in near midfield, the Mountain Hawks wouldn't quit. Lyght made a turn down the sidelines and found Roesing, who buried the shot into the lower left side of the net for her first-career goal. It couldn't have come at a bigger time.
"Corinne had a great game," said Roesing. "She had a perfect cross to me and I just wanted to put it away. We have a lot of grit within our team. We came out in the first half a little flat. In the second half, we just had to finish and that's exactly what we did."Throw-in near midfield with just over 30 seconds remaining? No problem for the Mountain Hawks, as Corinne Lyght makes the turn and finds Emma Roesing in the middle for the GWG with just 23 seconds remaining in a 2-1 win over archrival Lafayette!#SCTop10 | #PLTop3 pic.twitter.com/Q2cNTRV35R

"Happy with the fight, happy with the determination to just keep going," said Lehigh head coach Eric Lambinus. "We have a throw in with 40 seconds left and we're still trying to score, which tells you that we know we can score and know we can be dangerous."
Â
The game's first goal came in the 36th minute as Lafayette's Gretchen Waechter buried a shot from distance. Just moments prior, Lyght had Lehigh's best chance to the game up until that point, beating the goalkeeper, but it ricocheted off the left post.
Â
The Mountain Hawks fired the first five shots of the second half, but couldn't find the equalizer. Sophomore goalkeeper Violette Bonvallet made a save at 59:45 to keep the deficit at one. Then just 37 seconds later, Lehigh capitalized to pull even. On the left side, Lyght made a series of moves to get free, before centering where Supp put it home in the 61st minute.
"Corinne is composed with the ball and she's a smart player," said Lambinus. "When the ball gets to her feet, a sign of a really good player is the game settles and it slows down. She did a really good job of that [tonight]. She didn't rush through anything and made really good decisions. We're happy to have her.Patience. Trust us, you'll want to see how this play ends. Â
"And the last play, the turn that she made, it's just different."
Â
Just minutes before the game-winning goal, Bonvallet made an incredible point-blank stop on Lafayette's Anna Garcia in the 86th minute.
That set the stage for the heroics of Lyght and Roesing. Can we talk about this save from Violette Bonvallet in the 86th minute to keep the score tied at one?! 😱

Â
"It was the reverse of our game on Saturday where we played really well at the beginning of the game, then let up," said Lambinus. "In this one, we came out a little bit flat. It's midweek; it's our first league game in the midweek. At times in the first half, we played a little bit better, but then from the start of the second half, we had a couple really good chances."
Â
Final shots were 17-9 in favor of Lehigh while the Leopards held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Bonvallet finished with five saves, as did Lafayette goalkeeper Natalie Neumann.
Â
Next up, the Mountain Hawks will host Holy Cross on Sunday at 12 p.m. on ESPN+.
