Black Knights top the Mountain Hawks in a close match

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's tennis team (3-2, 2-2) suffered a tough defeat on Sunday afternoon, losing 4-2 to the Army West Point Black Knights at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. With Army's win, the Black Knights have now won 11 straight meetings between the two schools.
 
Lehigh's top doubles pair continues to dominate, as Zack Elliott and Harry Wang picked up another win at the No. 1 spot. The duo's 6-2 win over Army's top team improves Elliott and Wang's record to 4-1 at the top spot. Despite the win, the Black Knights took the other two doubles matches to take the doubles point.
 
Moving to singles, the Brown and White managed to take two singles wins on the afternoon. At the No. 1 spot, the junior Elliott won his third singles match of the season at the top spot. Elliott's 6-2, 6-2 win over Aj Woodman was a big jolt for the Mountain Hawks. At the No, 5 spot, Jacob Edelchik delivered a back-and-forth 7-6, 7-6 win over Jake Huarte. With Edelchik's win, the senior improved to 4-1 in singles play.
 
Sophomore Matt Kleiman battled to a three-set loss to Thomas Lake at the No. 3 spot. Kleiman took the first set but was topped in the final two sets to drop the match. The final score at the No. 3 spot read 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.  At the No. 2 spot, the senior Wang went toe-to-toe with Diego Huttepain but couldn't manage to squeak out the win. Wang suffered the 6-4, 7-5 loss.
 
Up next, the Mountain Hawks will compete in their final match of the regular season next Sunday at Bucknell. Lehigh will host the Patriot League Championships from April 22 to April 25.
