BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time this season, junior right-hander Mason Black has been named Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the Mountain Hawks' third Pitcher of the Week award this season and Black's third weekly honor of his career.

Black (2-1, 2.22 ERA), earned his second victory of the season on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader at Lafayette. He pitched a seven-inning complete game, allowing just one run on three hits with 10 strikeouts, while walking three Leopards. Black took a no-hitter into the fourth inning and struck out seven of nine batters at one point. The complete game is the second of his career and Black's first since 2019.

On the season, Black has struck out 44 batters and walked just eight over 28.1 innings and five starts. His 44 strikeouts are the most in the Patriot League by a considerably wide margin. Teammate Matt Svanson is second in the league with 32 and Army's Patrick Melampy is currently third with 25.

Junior infielder Joe Gorla earned Honorable Mention recognition for his impressive day on Saturday. Gorla batted .571 (4-for-7) with four RBIs in the two games to guide the offense.

The Mountain Hawks swept the two-game set with Lafayette at Kamine Stadium on Saturday before having Sunday's doubleheader rained out at Walker Field. Those two Rivalry games will be made up at a later date.

Lehigh takes on Navy for three games this weekend, the first two in Annapolis beginning at noon and the third game of the series on Easter Sunday at Walker Field beginning at 2 p.m.
