BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In the midst of a two-game win streak, the Lehigh women's basketball team finishes out non-league play on Tuesday, taking on Atlantic 10 foe George Washington in a matinee at 1:30 p.m. from the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C.

Please note, on Dec. 15, George Washington University announced that Tuesday's matchup will be held without ticketed fans due to the increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases among the GW university community.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off a dominant 42-point win over Delaware State on Saturday afternoon. Now, the team turns their attention to the next feat: winning a road game.

Lehigh is 0-2 on the road this season, playing eight of its 10 games so far at Stabler Arena. In fact, the last time the Mountain Hawks won a game away from home, they took down Boston U. in the Patriot League Championship Game back in March.

Without key starters Clair Steele and Frannie Hottinger against the Hornets, Lehigh still managed to get great production out of sophomore guard Mackenzie Kramer, who scored 20 points on a career-high six 3-pointers. She also added six rebounds and four assists and earned Patriot League Player of the Week honors on Monday. First year Ella Stemmer finished in double figures as well, scoring a career-high 11 points.

In addition, first-year forward Meghan O'Brien was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the first time after scoring a career-high eight points and 10 rebounds with three blocks while making her third straight start.

Lehigh recorded a whopping 29 assists on 32 made field goals against Delaware State and are averaging nearly 19 assists per game this season, by far the top mark in the Patriot League, ranking in the Top 15 in all of NCAA Division I.

Four Mountain Hawks are still averaging double scoring figures this season, as Hottinger (16.8), Kramer (15.7), Emma Grothaus (12.9) and Megan Walker (10.5) have each made significant contributions to the offense through the first 10 games of the season.

Matching up with GW on Tuesday will be a really solid test for Patriot League play, which begins on Dec. 30 vs. American at Stabler Arena.

Through 11 games, George Washington has been playing at the middle of the pack with a 6-5 overall record. The Colonials are coming off a 62-53 victory over Howard on Dec. 12, which followed consecutive defeats to Virginia and Georgetown.

GW has notably secured victories over American, Old Dominion and Quinnipiac this season so far.

Against the Bison at home the last time out, four Colonials notched double-figures led by Kyara Frames and Taylor Webster's 11 points with 10 each for Mayowa Taiwo and Faith Blethen. Taiwo also recorded 11 rebounds for a double-double, while Sheslanie Laureano had four assists to lead the team.

Nya Lok leads the team with 9.8 points per game, while Laureano trails closely behind at 8.3. Ty Moore is the team leader off the glass with 8.8 rebounds per game. Aurea Gingras is chipping in 1.5 assists per game so far this year.

George Washington finished the 2020-21 campaign with a 9-14 overall record and finished 5-9 in Atlantic 10 play. The Colonials fell to Richmond in the second round of the A-10 tournament.

George Washington and Lehigh have met twice and have split the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks won the last time out on Nov. 13, 2019, 59-53.

Tuesday marks the first time the two teams have met in Washington, D.C.

The matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required) and free internet audio will be provided with Matt Markus on the play-by-play call. Pre-game coverage will begin at 1:20 p.m.
