BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a breakout six games in 2020, Lehigh men's lacrosse sophomore Tommy Schelling has been added to the final Tewaaraton Award Watch List, as announced on Tuesday. Schelling joins teammates Conor Gaffney and Andrew Pettit on the list. The award is presented annually to the top player in college lacrosse. This year's ceremony scheduled for May 28 in Washington, D.C. will not be held and no college awards will be presented in 2020.

This marks just the second time in program history that Lehigh men's lacrosse features three watch list honorees. The other instance came in 2013 with David DiMaria, Dante Fantoni and Matt Poillon. Lehigh's three honorees are the most by any Patriot League team (Loyola and Army each have two).

In 2020, Schelling led the Mountain Hawks in goals (22), assists (11) in points (33). Schelling opened the season with a nine-point effort against Utah (seven goals, two assists). In what proved to be his final game of the season, he had seven points vs. Holy Cross (four goals, three assists). In between, Schelling tallied four points at defending national champion Virginia, six vs. VMI, four at NJIT and three vs. Navy. Schelling finished 12th nationally in points per game, 15th in goals per contest and 42nd in assists per game.

The Mountain Hawks finished the season 5-1, winning their final four games, including their first two Patriot League contests. Lehigh came in at No. 19 in the final Maverick Media Poll.
