BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team honored its senior class prior to Saturday's rivalry match with Lafayette, then took care of the Leopards on the court in a convincing 7-0 win on the Ulrich Varsity Courts.

The Mountain Hawks won the doubles point, dropping just seven total games in the process, then swept the six singles matches, losing just one set along the way, to cement their 10th straight win over Lafayette.

All four of Lehigh's seniors; Christopher Auteri, Sam Bencheghib, Bryant Born and George Cooper, all played and won in singles action.

"It was a terrific performance by our seniors on Senior Day," Lehigh head coach Wouter Hendrix. "It was great to be outside on our home courts. I'm so happy for Bryant, Chris, George and Sam. They've put a ton of work into the players they are today. I consider myself blessed to be their coach."

Lehigh played without sophomore Harry Wang, forcing Hendrix to juggle his singles lineup.

Cooper and sophomore Jacob Edelchik opened doubles play with a 6-1 win over Andrew Reed and Ross Coleman at the No. 3 flight. Freshman Zack Elliott teamed with Born to clinch the doubles point with a 6-3 win over William Barry and Brandt Baldwin at the top flight. Auteri and junior Jack Martin-Dyer made it a doubles sweep with a 6-3 win over John Yurconic and Daniel Kramer at No. 2.

Auteri opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Coleman at No. 6. Martin-Dyer made it 3-0 for the Mountain Hawks with a straight set win over Yurconic at No. 2.

Fittingly, on senior day, a senior clinched the match as Born beat Kramer 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Elliott moved up to the top flight to beat Barry 7-5, 6-3.

Cooper needed to play a third set 10-point tiebreak but prevailed against Baldwin to deliver Lehigh's sixth point, while Bencheghib won his second singles match of the year, beating Paul Caruso in straight sets at No. 6.

The win moves Lehigh to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot League.

The Mountain Hawks will close out the regular season on Sunday when they visit Bucknell for a match that has been moved indoors with a start time pushed back to 4 p.m.
