Wang nets signature win as Lehigh falls 6-1 at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore Harry Wang picked up an impressive win at No. 1 singles but Lehigh closed out its five-match spring break trip with a 6-1 loss to Navy Sunday at the Tose Family Tennis Center.
Wang rallied from a set down to defeat reigning Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Year Andrew Ton 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to account for Lehigh's lone point, while handing Ton his first career singles loss against a Patriot League opponent.
The loss drops Lehigh's record to 7-5 overall and 1-1 in the Patriot League, while Navy improves to 19-11 and wins in its league opener.
Navy swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead, although the matches at No. 2 and No. 3 were tightly contested.
In Singles play, Navy posted straight set wins at the bottom two flights and then clinched the match when Derrick Thompson won a second set tiebreak over freshman Zack Elliott at the No. 2 flight.
The matches at No. 3 and No. 4 went to 10-point tiebreaks, with junior Jack Martin-Dyer winning his first set at No. 3 before falling to Greg Durham and freshman Gary Fishkin won his second set against Peter Lohrbach at No. 4.
The Mountain Hawks will play their final two non-league matches of the regular season net weekend when they host Saint Joseph's Friday at 3:30 p.m. and then travel to Temple on Sunday for a 10 a.m. match.
