BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Junior goalkeeper Will Smith was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced Monday. Smith played a crucial role in the Mountain Hawks' 1-0 victory over St. John's last Tuesday, stopping five second half shots amidst a relentless Red Storm offensive attack. The shutout was his second straight. Between starts in net against St. John's and Binghamton, Smith stopped eight of 10 shots that came his way.
Â
Before being shut out by Smith and Lehigh, St. John's had averaged two goals per game. Through five starts this season, Smith has a 1.19 goals against average and a .806 save percentage.

Following a tough defeat to Binghamton at home on Friday night that snapped a two-game win streak, the Mountain Hawks (2-3) head back on the road to face the Rider Broncs on Tuesday.
Against Binghamton on Friday, the Mountain Hawks took an early 1-0 lead at the 1:47 mark off senior Oscar Greene's one-timer assisted by freshman Josh Luchini. The Bearcats scored two goals in the second half that ended up sealing the deal.
Â
