Â
Â
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's basketball team will look to make it two wins in a row on Wednesday night when they travel to Annapolis to take on Navy. Freshman Camryn Buhr netted game high 14 points and added eight rebounds. Junior Bernadette Devaney scored 12 points and was 4-for-5 from three-point range, and sophomore Hailey Pascoe scored 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting.
Â
Lehigh is 3-3 over its last six games and is scoring an average of 64 points per game with a rebounding margin of 2.2 during that span.
Â
IF LEHIGH BEATS NAVY
-Â Â Â Â Â Lehigh would earn at least a split of the season series against Navy for the second year in a row and just the second time in the last five years.
-Â Â Â Â Â Paired with a loss by Holy Cross, Lehigh would move into a tie for eighth place with the Crusaders.
Â
ALL-TIME VS. NAVY
Entering Wednesday, Lehigh comes in with an all-time record of 27-31 against the Midshipmen. Last season, the two teams split the season series for the first time since 2010-11. Lehigh won both matchups in 2011-12, before Navy won the next eight games in a row. Overall, the Mids have won 10 of the last 11 games between the two schools.
Â
Since the 2012-13 season, Lehigh and Navy have met 10 times, including five times at Stabler, with Navy winning all five matchups. Lehigh is 1-4 at Navy during that stretch.
Â
Each team has had an eight game winning streak during the course of the 58 matchups in the series, with Lehigh's coming from 2001-2004, and Navy's from 2012-2015. Lehigh also had a six game win streak from 2008-2010, and Navy has had a pair of five-game streaks.
Â
Navy went 2-1 against Lehigh in the 1980s, with their first matchup coming in the 1981-82 season. Navy held a 12-6 advantage in the 1990s, and Lehigh dominated in the 2000s by winning 14 of the 20 games. Since 2010, Navy holds a 10-6 record.
Â
SCOUTING THE MIDSHIPMEN
Riding a two-game winning streak and winners of 11 of their last 12, Navy enters Wednesday in a first place tie with Bucknell atop the Patriot League standings at 11-2. The Mids sit at 18-6 overall and are coming off a three-point win on Saturday at Lafayette. Four players scored in double figures for Navy, led by Sarita Condie with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. This has been a common theme for Navy, who leads the league in scoring offense (68.8 ppg), 3-point FG percentage (35.8) and 3-point FG/game (8.5).
Â
Navy also ranks at the top of the PL in assists (16.6), asst/turnover ratio (1.3), and is second in both steals (10.8) and turnover margin ( 5.3). On the flip side, Navy ranks eighth in rebounding margin at -3.1.
Â
Navy's only two league losses have come by single digits at Bucknell (67-64) and at home against Colgate (69-61). The Mids hold a 8.1 scoring margin in league games, with freshman Laurel Jaunich leading the Patriot League in league matchups with a 56.5 FG pct.
Â
Navy has played three Power Five conference schools as part of their non-league schedule this season, keeping it close with Wake Forest (L, 65-75) and Arkansas (L, 67-70), and falling at No. 13 Tennessee (65-85).
Â
Navy is led by Sarita Condie and Taylor Dunham, who rank second and third, respectively in te PL in 3FG/game. Justice Swett is the league's leader in steals (2.6) and Condie has been the best three-point shooter in the league so far this season at 46.4 percent. Hannah Fenske also ranks in the top five in the league at 41.8 percent from long range.    Â
Â
TWO SCORING OVER 20
Quinci Mann scored 23 points and Gena Grundhoffer netted a career-high 20 in Saturday's win over Holy Cross, marking the first time since Nov. 25, 2015 that Lehigh had two players score 20 points in the same game. In that game, Lexi Martins (23) and Kerry Kinek (22) led Lehigh past Saint Peter's.
Â
STRONG SHOOTING FROM THE FLOOR
In Saturday's win over Holy Cross, the Mountain Hawks shot a season-best 52.1 percent from the field, the first time they shot over 50 percent from the floor since Feb. 20, 2016 at Lafayette.
Lehigh shot an even 50 percent from three-point range in the game, marking the second highest percentage of the season and the fourth time they've made 10 triples in a game this season.Â
Â
GRUNDHOFFER MAKING STRIDES
Freshman Gena Grundhoffer has been a force for the Mountain Hawks over the last three games, scoring 13 points per contest and shooting 53.6 percent from the field. She is also 5-for-5 from beyond the arc and is collecting 4.3 rebounds per game in the last three games. She is coming off her first-career 20-point game on Saturday against Holy Cross.
Â
BUHR CONTINUES TO BLOOM
Over the last seven games, freshman Camryn Buhr leads the Mountain Hawks with 6.7 rebounds per game and is second with 10.6 points. She is shooting 41.2 percent over that span, and leads the team with seven steals and is second with four blocks and 10 assists. For the season, she has crept up into second on the team with 4.5 boards per game.
Â
MANN CRACKS THE TOP 20
Junior Quinci Mann ranks tied for 20th in the NCAA in free throw percentage at 87.4 percent, climbing to as high as 19th at the beginning of the week. If the season were to end today, her percentage would be tied for seventh best in Patriot League history since the league began keeping track of the stat during the 2000-01 season.
Â
Mann set a new program record for made free throws in a game by going 16-for-16 from the line on Feb. 1 against Loyola, surpassing the previous Lehigh record of 13, held by Alexa Williams (2009) and Kelly Madden (1995). The mark was 10 shy of the Patriot League record of 26 (in 26 attempts) held by Army's Kelsey Minato (2014).
Â
Her 16 made free throws is the second most in a single game in the Patriot League this season, and tied for ninth most in a single game in the nation.
Â
GETTING A BOOST ON THE BOARDS
The Mountain Hawks have now outrebounded their opponents in five of their last seven games overall, and own a rebounding margin of 3.0 during that stretch. Lehigh had previously been outrebounded in nine straight contests.
Â
Lehigh ranks fourth in the Patriot League by collecting 38.1 rebounds per game, but comes in eighth/10 by allowing 40.7 boards per game. Overall, Lehigh's rebounding margin has been on the rise to -2.6 and is 6th in the PL. Lehigh has been outrebounded in 14 of its 24 games this season and holds a 2-12 record in those games.
Â

In the two games against Navy and Lafayette on Jan. 18 and 21, she shot a sizzling 7-for-9 (77.8%) overall, including 7-for-8 (87.5%) from three point range. She averaged 11.5 points and two rebounds in 24.5 minutes over the two games. She currently ranks tied for sixth in the Patriot League in three-point percentage at 41.8 percent.
Â
HEDSTROM'S HELPING HANDS
Freshman point guard Hannah Hedstrom has set career-highs in rebounds in two of the last three games, including a team-high nine against American. Over the last seven games, she ranks second on the team with 5.6 rebounds and is dishing out 3.9 assists per game.
Â
Hedstrom is currently tied for fifth in the Patriot League by averaging 3.4 assists per game, and 3.8 assists per game during league play. She is the only freshman ranked in the top 10 overall and is tied for the most assists in one game this season: nine against Delaware State on Nov. 16.
Â
MANN INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Quinci Mann became the 19th player in program history to reach the 1,000 career point mark on Feb. 8 at Bucknell. It was the first time a Lehigh player reached the 1,000 point plateau since Lexi Martins on Feb. 27, 2016.
