Lehigh to Host Holy Cross on Saturday in Play4Kay Game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's basketball team returns to Stabler Arena on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. matinee against Holy Cross. Lehigh will hold its annual Play4Kay Game and one dollar per fan in attendance will be donated to the fight against women's cancer on behalf of Dunne Manning Inc. and City Center Lehigh Valley.

Lehigh will look to draw even with Holy Cross after suffering a lopsided 65-47 defeat to the Crusaders on the road back on January 14. Like the Mountain Hawks, Holy Cross will also enter the game coming off a loss on Wednesday night. Lehigh stumbled at top-ranked Bucknell 73-54, while Holy Cross suffered an 85-70 home loss to Lafayette.

Lehigh junior Quinci Mann became the 19th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career on Wednesday night, reaching the milestone on a foul line jumper in the third quarter as part of her team-high 16 points. Senior Kayla Burton tied a season-high with 12 points on 3-of-5 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Holy Cross had four players score in double figures against the Leopards including Tricia Byrne and Katie Doherty with 18 points each and Lauren Manis who had 17. The Patriot League's fifth-leading scorer, Infinity Thomas-Waheed chipped in 12 points.

IF LEHIGH BEATS HOLY CROSS
-      Lehigh would earn at least a split of the season series against Holy Cross for the fourth straight season.
-      Lehigh would beat Holy Cross for the sixth time in the last eight matchups.

ALL-TIME VS. HOLY CROSS
Despite winning five of the last seven games against Holy Cross, Lehigh enters Saturday holding a 22-42 record all-time against the Crusaders, with HC sporting a 15-12 record all-time at Stabler Arena.

Lehigh was unable to overcome a slow start back on January 14 and fell by 18 points in Worcester. Holy Cross held advantages of 28-14 in the paint, 20-7 in points off turnovers and 15-7 in second chance points. The Crusaders shot 40.4 percent for the game, and Lehigh combined to shoot 30.8 percent. Hailey Pascoe scored a career-high 16 points in the game.

The two schools have met three times in each of the last two seasons, and the Mountain Hawks have ended the Crusaders' season each of the last two years in the Patriot League Tournament. Lehigh took two of three from Holy Cross last year with wins of 61-58 and 64-48 at Stabler Arena. The Crusaders won in overtime on their home court, 77-71 on Feb. 13. In 2014-15, the Mountain Hawks swept the season series by winning all three matchups, which included a pair of 13-point decisions.

Mann led Lehigh's returners in last year's three games, scoring in double figures in all three: 16 pts on Jan. 16, 15 pts on Feb. 13, and 11 points in the PLT on Mar. 7.

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
Holy Cross is coming off an 85-70 home loss on Wednesday night to Lafayette. The Crusaders had four players score in double figures with Tricia Byrne and Katie Doherty leading the way with 18 points apiece. Lauren Manis added 17 and Infiniti Thomas-Waheed netted 12.

The two teams have also faced a ranked opponent this year out of the Pac-12 Conference - the Crusaders came out on the short end of a 63-33 decision at #21 Arizona State, while Lehigh lost at Cal.

Holy Cross leads the Patriot League with 4.3 blocks per game, and is averaging 4.6 blocks per contest in league play. On the boards, HC is second on the offensive glass (13.3) and is eighth in defensive rebounds (23.5). Their rebounding margin of -4.2 puts them 10th in the league. In league games, the Crusaders' rebounding margin has risen to eighth at -2.5.

During Patriot League play on the offensive end, Holy Cross is ninth with 59.6 ppg and a 35.5 field goal pct.

Individually, junior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed has entered the league's top five in scoring at 13.8 points, and adds 5.6 rebounds per game. Lauren Manis has asserted herself as one of the top freshman in the league this season by scoring 13.2 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game. She has been named the PL Rookie of the Week three times this season. Point guard Tricia Byrne leads the Patriot League from three-point range in league play at 44.7 percent.

MANN INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Junior Quinci Mann became the 19th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark for her career in Wednesday's game at Bucknell. It was the first time a Lehigh player reached the 1,000 point plateau since Lexi Martins on Feb. 27, 2016. Mann is averaging 15.6 points per game this season, good enough for third place in the Patriot League.

MANN CRACKS THE TOP 20
Quinci Mann has entered the NCAA's top 20 in free throw percentage for the first time this season. She currently ranks T-19th in Division I with an 87.9 free throw percentage. If the season were to end today, her percentage would be the fourth best in Patriot League history since the league began keeping track of the stat during the 2000-01 season.

Mann set a new program record for made free throws in a game by going 16-for-16 from the line on Feb. 1 against Loyola, surpassing the previous Lehigh record of 13, held by Alexa Williams (2009) and Kelly Madden (1995). The mark was 10 shy of the Patriot League record of 26 (in 26 attempts) held by Army's Kelsey Minato (2014).

Her 16 made free throws is the second most in a single game in the Patriot League this season, and tied for ninth most in a single game in the nation.

BERN BABY BERN!
In the last six games since Lehigh and Holy Cross met, junior Bernadette Devaney is shooting 52.2 percent (12-for-23) from three point-range and 43.3 percent overall (13-for-30). In the two games against Navy and Lafayette on Jan. 18 and 21, she shot a sizzling 7-for-9 (77.8%) overall, including 7-for-8 (87.5%) from three point range. She averaged 11.5 points and two rebounds in 24.5 minutes over the two games. She currently ranks sixth in the Patriot League in three-point percentage at 41.5 percent.

HEDSTROM'S HELPING HANDS
Freshman point guard Hannah Hedstrom has set career-highs in rebounds in two of the last three games, including a team-high nine against American. Over the last six games, she ranks second on the team with 5.7 rebounds and is dishing out 4.0 assists per game.

Hedstrom is currently fourth in the Patriot League by averaging 3.4 assists per game. During league play, Hedstrom is fifth in the PL with 3.9 assists per game. She is the only freshman ranked in the top 10 overall and is tied for the most assists in one game this season: nine against Delaware State on Nov. 16.

BIG POINTS FROM PASCOE
Sophomore Hailey Pascoe has been hot from downtown over the last nine games, shooting a team-best 48.7 percent (19-for-39) from beyond the arc, including 50.0 percent (10-for-20) over the last six games. She has tied her career-high with four made threes twice during that span against Holy Cross and Loyola.

NO REASON TO BOO-HER
In the last six games since Lehigh and Holy Cross last met, freshman Camryn Buhr has led the Mountain Hawks with 6.5 rebounds per game and is second on the squad with 10.2 points per game. She has scored in double figures in four of those six games.

MAKING THE MOST
Senior Kayla Burton has made the most of her playing time over the last four games, shooting 5-for-8 from three-point land and 5-for-9 overall. She tied her season high with 12 points in 12 minutes of action against Bucknell on Wednesday.

BATTLING ON THE BOARDS
The Mountain Hawks have now outrebounded their opponents in four of their last six games overall. Lehigh had previously been outrebounded in nine straight contests.

Lehigh ranks fourth in the Patriot League by collecting 38.2 rebounds per game, but comes in 10th/10 by allowing 41.3 boards per game. Overall, Lehigh's rebounding margin has been on the rise to -3.1 and is 7th in the PL. Lehigh has been outrebounded in 14 of its 22 games this season and holds a 2-12 record in those games.
