BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will hit the road for the first time in Patriot League play when the Mountain Hawks travel to Hamilton, N.Y. for a matchup with reigning Patriot League champion Colgate on Wednesday. Kickoff from Beyer-Small '76 Field is set for 7 p.m. with live streaming available on the Patriot League Network.
Â
Lehigh (6-3, 1-1 PL) will look to bounce back from its first Patriot League defeat of the season, which also snapped the Mountain Hawks' five-game winning streak, to Boston U on Saturday. Lehigh outshot Boston by a 15-7 margin while each team registered four shots on goal, but the Terriers converted on two of those shots on goals en route to a 2-0 victory. All three of the Mountain Hawks' defeats this season have come via shutouts, while also outshooting their opponents in each of those games.
Â
The Mountain Hawks still own the Patriot League's top offense with a 1.56 goals per game average to go along with a 0.45 scoring margin, one of only two teams in the league with a plus scoring margin. Mark Forrest tops the league points per game and goals per game, while Doyle Tuvesson is fourth in points per game and ranks second in assists. Will Smith backs up a defense that ranks second in the league with a 1.11 goals-against average.
Â
The Raiders (3-7, 0-2 PL) enter Wednesday looking to snap a five-game skid. After securing two victories against power conference opponents, Oregon State and Northwestern, Colgate dropped five-straight, including its first two Patriot League games against Loyola and Army West Point
Â
Aram Ouligian leads the team with six points on two goals and two assists. Jared Stroud has chipped in a team-high four assists. Peter Tappenden has played every single minute in goal this season, tallying 39 saves and three shutouts. Tappenden has also tallied a 1.40 goals against average and a .736 save percentage.
Â
Colgate leads the all-time series against Lehigh with a 15-12-6 mark. Despite the Raiders taking the last matchup in 2016, the Mountain Hawks have won three out of the last four matchups between the two teams, including a 2-0 victory in the Patriot League semifinal in 2015. Â
Â
Wednesday's game will be the first of a three-game road trip for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh will travel to Navy on Saturday and conclude its trip with a battle against nationally-ranked Virginia next Tuesday. Â
