BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off an exciting Senior Day victory over Georgetown, the Lehigh field hockey team will host No. 22 Boston University on Saturday (1 p.m.) before hitting the road on Sunday to face Columbia (2 p.m.). Saturday marks Lehigh's final regular season home game before it wraps up its season at Columbia, Colgate and Cornell.
Â
With a win on Saturday, the Mountain Hawks would stay alive for a Patriot League Tournament berth. Heading into the weekend, Lehigh is in sixth place, but just one game behind a three-way tie for third place (Bucknell, Holy Cross and Lafayette are all 2-2).
Â
Last time out, Georgetown took a quick 1-0 lead in the eighth minute, but the Mountain Hawks answered back with goals from junior Teresa Carotenuto in the 12th and 17th minutes, coming on Lehigh's first two shots of the game. After nearly 40 minutes without a goal, the Hoyas pulled even in the 57th minute, but Lehigh answered with the game-winning goal just 6:05 later. Off a penalty corner, Carotenuto put the ball towards cage, it was blocked by a defender, but freshman Drew Pecora wouldn't be denied. Innarella was strong in goal for the second straight home game, finishing with 10 saves, her second straight home contest with double-figure stops.
Â
Carotenuto had a hand in all four Lehigh goals on the weekend (also scoring a goal at Lock Haven) to earn Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors. Over the last three weeks, the Mountain Hawks have now won each of the league's four weekly awards once (Pecora was also named Rookie of the Week on Oct. 2 while sophomore Paige Innarella garnered Goalkeeper of the Week and senior Jackie Renda won Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9).
Â

The Terriers are coming off a 3-2 overtime defeat to No. 10 Boston College, this after three straight victories – over No. 24 American (2-1), Northeastern (6-1) and Holy Cross (8-1).
