Taryn Mayer Names Assistat Coach For Lehigh Field Hockey

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head coach Corey Mayer has announced the addition of Taryn Mayer as an assistant coach for the 2026 season. Mayer played collegiately at both James Madison and Shippensburg Universities and also brings experience coaching at the high school and club levels.

The younger sister of head coach Corey Mayer, Taryn began her college career at James Madison, where she appeared in six games as a first-year. Taryn Mayer transferred to Shippensburg for her final two seasons, totaling nine goals across 41 games, including seven her 2023 junior campaign.

A two-year member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad at Shippensburg, Mayer won PSAC regular season and tournament titles in 2024 and appeared in back-to-back NCAA Division II Final Fours.

A Huntingdon Valley, Pa., native, Mayer spent the 2025 season as an assistant coach at Bensalem High School. She has extensive experience coaching at the club level coaching various age group teams for Mystx Field Hockey Club and Philly Hockey Club.

Mayer earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Shippensburg in 2025.
