Lehigh Hosts Lafayette Saturday in Annual Rivalry Showdown

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Rivalry will be renewed for the 114th edition on the soccer pitch between the Lehigh and Lafayette men's soccer programs when the two sides clash on Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Ulrich Sports Complex. This Patriot League event will be streamed live for free on the Patriot League Network.

Lehigh (7-4-1, 2-1-1) is coming off a disappointing 4-2 result in a hard-fought battle at No. 10 Virginia on Tuesday night. The Mountain Hawks had the lead on two separate occasions and controlled the pace for most of the game, but the Cavaliers scored three-unanswered goals in the final 20 minutes to erase a one-goal deficit.

The Mountain Hawks will look to regain some momentum as they return home coming off a challenging three-game road stand, which included midweek trips to Colgate and Virginia, in addition to a Saturday morning league match at Navy. Lehigh went 1-1-1 during that span, scoring 2.33 goals per game, led by seven points by Mark Forrest and three assists by Doyle Tuvesson.

Lafayette (2-10-0, 1-3-0) is coming off a three-game home stand with a record of 1-2, including a 2-1 overtime win over Yale on Tuesday night. The Leopards are looking to break a three-game losing streak in Patriot League play during which they have been out-scored 5-0 in losses to Holy Cross, Army and Boston U. Lafayette's lone win and one of two wins on the season was a 1-0 victory over Bucknell in their league opener on September 23.

Lehigh and Lafayette share three common opponents on the season in Cornell, Army and Boston U. The Mountain Hawks are 2-1 against those opponents and the Leopards are 0-3 with a -5 goal differential in those games.

The Leopards have seven wins and one tie in the last 10 meetings, including a 1-0 victory last year at Lafayette.
