Lehigh Men’s Track Wraps up Day Two at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team completed its second day of competition at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon. Four Mountain Hawks raced on Thursday, followed by several taking part in four events on Friday.
On Thursday, junior Ryan Cooney finished in 15th place out of 31 finishers in the Olympic Development 5K, finishing the race in 14:47.19. Sophomore John Tolbert and sophomore Scott Mason competed in the 3,000m steeplechase, with Tolbert taking 23rd place in personal record fashion of 9:21.03. Mason also set a new PR, racing across the finish line in 9:22.75 for 25th place overall. Senior Evan Hardy represented Lehigh in the 5K Championship, where he used a time of 14:56.97 to finish in 59th place overall.
Junior thrower Lucas Warning took home 13th place in Friday's shot put, tossing a total of 16.02 meters. Lehigh also competed in the 4x400 relay, featuring freshman Emre Soybas, junior Christopher Del Rossi, junior James Clements and freshman Clay Stabolepszy. The quartet combined on a 3:19.31 time to place 41st overall out of 68 teams.
Lehigh will have two more student-athletes compete on Saturday, with junior Daniel Reichenbach participating in the triple jump at 9 a.m. and grad student Adeolu Adesida taking part in the high jump
championship at 1:30 p.m.
Lehigh will also be hosting the Lehigh Games at the Goodman Campus Track on Saturday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with track following with an 11 a.m. start. Live results will be available.
