Lehigh cruises to 7-0 win over rival Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team won every singles and doubles match to pick up a 7-0 sweep at archrival Lafayette Wednesday afternoon. Lehigh moves to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in Patriot League action with the win, while the Leopards fall to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in league matches.
The duo of junior Cassidy Cruz and freshman Grace Lin opened the afternoon with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles, before sophomore Christina Auyeung and junior Jamie Campisi picked up a 6-0 win at the top flight to secure the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks. Sophomores Kirstin Godau and Briana Maravich followed with a 6-2 win at the second flight to complete the sweep of the doubles matches.
Cruz opened singles action with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Megan Reiling at No. 5 singles. Lin cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Rocine Moschella at the second flight before Godau clinched the match for Lehigh at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Madison Olexson.
Maravich followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles before Auyeung battled for a 6-0, 6-2 win at the top flight. Campisi cemented the sweep with a 7-5, 4-6 (3) victory at No. 3 singles as Lehigh walked away with a 7-0 win over the Leopards.
The Mountain Hawks return to action Saturday at 10 a.m. when Lehigh welcomes Colgate for another Patriot League match.
