Â
A close first half saw Saint Francis within three with just over three minutes remaining in the first half. However, senior Tim Kempton helped Lehigh build a nine-point halftime lead as he scored 10 points over the final 4:32 of the stanza. The Mountain Hawks then cruised in the second half, going up by as much as 41 at one point before wrapping up the 33-point win, still their largest margin of victory since a 102-62 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 2, 2012. Freshman Pat Andree was the story offensively, scoring 30 points on 10-of-12 shooting from three-point range. He tied the school record for made threes (tying Joe Knight's 10 made treys vs. Colgate on Mar. 4, 2005 and fell just one shy of tying the Patriot League mark. Andree also scored the most points by a Lehigh freshman since C.J. McCollum had 33 vs. Army on Feb. 13, 2010.
Â
Andree was 8-for-8 to begin the game as the eight consecutive threes was just three shy of tying the NCAA all-time record. Kempton added 21 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double in the last four games, sixth this season and 39th of his career. Both Kempton and Andree earned weekly awards as Kempton was named Patriot League Player of the Week for the fourth time this season while Andree garnered his first-career Rookie of the Week honor.
Â
Senior Austin Price scored a season-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range as three Mountain Hawks scored 20+ points in a game for the first time in Brett Reed's more than nine seasons as head coach. Sophomore Kyle Leufroy also scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting while junior Kahron Ross and freshman Jordan Cohen each had six points. Cohen also dished a career-high seven assists while Andree tied a career-high eight rebounds. Kempton blocked a shot and is now up to 14 on the season, already a career high. Lehigh has scored 190 points over its last two games, most since combining for 192 in consecutive wins over Boston University (89-86) and Army (103-74) on Jan. 31 and Feb. 4 of 2015. The Mountain Hawks shot 56 percent from the field against Saint Francis (38-of-68) and have now shot 50 percent or higher in six of the first 10 games this season.
Â
Lehigh will wrap up nonleague play at home, looking for a season-high third straight win and enter Patriot League play with a winning record. The Mountain Hawks have posted a winning record in the nonleague slate in six of the last seven years, hoping to make it seven-of-eight following Thursday night.
Â
Cabrini enters Thursday with a 5-2 record, riding a three-game winning streak. Most recently, the Cavaliers earned a 97-74 win over Immaculata. Cabrini is led offensively by Tyheim Monroe, who's averaging 22.0 points and 16.6 rebounds per game while dishing a team-high 20 assists on the season. Deryl Bagwell comes in at 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds while Ryan Charity is averaging 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds. Meanwhile, Ivan Robinson is averaging 11.7 points and 2.9 boards. Cabrini is averaging 80.4 points per game while averaging 10.3 steals per contest and forcing opponents to turn the ball over an average of 17.7 times per game.
Â
Lehigh and Cabrini will meet for the first time on Thursday evening.
Â
