BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team takes a quick break from Patriot League play Tuesday night when the Mountain Hawks host Fordham at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and free video will be available on the Patriot League Network.
The Mountain Hawks carry a 4-3-1 overall record into Tuesday's match and will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Holy Cross in the league opener Saturday. The Crusaders scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 12th minute before Lehigh responded by controlling play for much of the second half, but the Mountain Hawks weren't able to find the back of the net. Sophomore keeper Joe Bogan impressed with six saves, while senior Jamie Luchini tallied a game-high three shots.
Bogan leads the league in saves with an average of 5.5 per game and ranks second in save percentage (.846). Luchini has paced the Mountain Hawk offense with nine points behind three goals and three assists. Freshman Mark Forrest and sophomore Doyle Tuvesson follow with five points apiece.
Fordham holds a 2-3-3 overall record and is coming off a double-overtime scoreless draw against NJIT Saturday. The Rams have played three other Patriot League opponents so far this season, dropping a 2-1 overtime game to Boston University and tying both Lafayette (0-0, 2OT) and Army West Point (1-1, 2OT).
Janos Loebe leads Fordham with eight points behind two goals and four assists. Five other Rams have scored one goal apiece. Rashid Nuhu, the reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, leads the team with 23 saves to go along with a .697 save percentage and 1.34 goals against average.
Lehigh holds a 6-3-2 all-time advantage over Fordham. The Rams won the most recent meeting 1-0 in 2011.
