Women's golf to open fall season Sunday at Tignanelli Towson Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team will open its fall season this weekend at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational. The two-day tournament is the first of five fall events for the Mountain Hawks, including the Lehigh Invitational October 18-19 and concluding with the Delaware Invitational October 24-25.

The Mountain Hawks had a trio of second place finishes last season, including the Lehigh Invitational and the Patriot League Championship. Head coach Judy Dwyer enters her fourth season with a roster of six players. Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks will be senior Nicole Feierberg, who has earned back-to-back All-Patriot League honors, including first-team laurels last season following a fourth place finish.

Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle competed in six tournaments last season, while sophomores Casey Farmer and Megan Moylan both competed at last year's Patriot League Championship.

Dwyer has also added a pair of freshmen in Raegan Jahn from Jupiter, Fla. and Dawon Jeong from Dublin, Calif.

The Tignanelli Towson Invitational begins Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with teams teeing off from holes No. 1 and No. 10 at Eagles Nest Country Club in Phoenix, Md. The tournament will conclude Monday at 8 a.m. The course plays to a par 72 at 6,162 yards.

The 19-team field includes Albany, Bethune-Cookman, Central Connecticut State, Delaware State, Fairfield, Hampton, Hofstra, Navy, Saint Francis (Pa.), St. John's, Wagner and others, in addition to Lehigh and the host Tigers.

Lehigh will be back on the links next weekend at the Bucknell Invitational, before opening October at the Princeton Invitational.Â
