Two Mountain Hawks earn Academic All-League laurels

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh track and field seniors Sebastian Nicewicz and Natalie Bates have been named to the Patriot League Academic All-League team thanks to their success in the classroom and on the track, as announced by the league Friday afternoon.
Nicewicz, an Economics and Finance major, holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.74. He is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member who has made Dean's List six times while at Lehigh and is also a member of the Student Athlete Council. Nicewicz earned second team All-League status at the Patriot League Championship meet a week ago after helping Lehigh's 4x400 meter relay team to a second-place finish with a time of 3:17.74. The Mechanicsburg, Pa. native also competed in the 500 meter run at the league championship meet and finished in fifth place with a time of 1:05.44.
Bates, a Supply Chain Management and Finance major, holds a strong 3.80 cumulative GPA. She is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member who has made Dean's List six times while at Lehigh and is a member of Student Athlete Mentors program and Leadership Legacies at Lehigh. Bates claimed the pentathlon title at the league championship meet a week ago with a mark of 3,458 to earn first team All-League status.
Nicewicz, Bates and the Mountain Hawks return to action next weekend at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Boston University.
