Lehigh returns home to face Stetson Friday night

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team returns to the Ulrich Sports Complex for the first time since August when the Mountain Hawks welcome Stetson Friday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast free of charge on the Patriot League Network.
The Mountain Hawks carry a 3-2 record into Friday's contest and are coming off a 1-1 weekend road trip to Rhode Island. Freshman Doyle Tuvesson earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors after scoring the game-winning goal in Lehigh's 1-0 win at Rhode Island Friday night. The Mountain Hawks suffered a tough 2-1 loss at Brown Sunday to finish out the road swing. The Bears took a 1-0 lead shortly after halftime and Lehigh tied the score on a goal from junior Jamie Luchini in the 76th minute before Brown reclaimed the advantage three minutes later. Lehigh captured a 2-1 victory against Manhattan in the Mountain Hawks' only other home game of the season.
Luchini leads Lehigh with three goals this season, followed by Tuvesson, junior Austin Decker and senior Ali Famili who have each scored one. Senior keeper Ciaran Nugent has spent a majority of the time in goal and has already tallied two shutouts to up his career total to 17. Nugent has made 13 saves and owns a 1.25 GAA.
Stetson holds a 2-2-2 record so far this season and is coming off a 1-1 draw to Patriot League member Loyola. Ross Morison scored Stetson's only goal in the 60th minute before Loyola netted the equalizer four minutes later. Third-string keeper and team captain J.J. Lofthouse-Smith made his first career appearance in goal for a banged-up Stetson squad and recorded six saves to help the Hatters battle to a 1-1 draw.
Morison, J.J. Bostic and Jared Huber have each scored two goals apiece for Stetson this season, while Lucas Diniz leads the team with 17 shots. The Hatters have claimed wins over Elon (3-2) and FIU (2-1), but fell to Duke (8-2) and Campbell (3-1) in addition to tying Florida Atlantic (1-1).
The Mountain Hawks remain home Tuesday to face Villanova before opening Patriot League play on Saturday Sept. 27 against American at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Both contests are set for 7 p.m. and can be viewed for free on the Patriot League Network.
