BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Lehigh women's basketball team looks to stay hot and continue its undefeated start to the season Tuesday at Saint Peter's. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks seek their first 4-0 start since the 1984-85 campaign when Lehigh began 10-0.
Lehigh has outscored its opponents by an average of 18.7 points so far this season en route to a trio of 12-plus point wins, two of which came on the road. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a wire-to-wire 74-54 victory at NJIT Friday night. The victory secured Lehigh's first 3-0 start to the season since the 1995-96 campaign.
Sophomore Lexi Martins tallied a career high in both points and rebounds for the third-straight game as the Irvington, N.Y. native finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds for her third-consecutive double-double. Junior Kerry Kinek finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. The junior passed the 900-point and 500-rebound plateau in the same night as she moved her career totals to 904 points and 503 rebounds. Martins and Kinek's performances marked the first time since Feb. 13, 2013 that two Lehigh players recorded double-doubles in the same contest. Kinek and former Mountain Hawk Becky Guman accomplished the feat at American in 2013.
After not recording a single double-double in her rookie season, Martins has broken onto the scene so far this season. She's registered double-doubles in each of this season's contests and leads the squad with 17 points and a league-best 12 rebounds per contest. Kinek follows with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while junior Elizabeth Sharlow ranks third on the squad with 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
Tuesday's contest will be just the second game of the season for Saint Peter's. The Peacocks dropped their season-opener 56-40 at Stony Brook on Nov. 15.

Samantha Meier recorded eight points and three blocks in her first game in a Saint Peter's uniform while Bridget Whitfield and Rebecca Sparks tallied six points each.
Saint Peter's pulled within six points of Stony Brook late in the second half, but the Seawolves closed the game on a 9-2 run to capture the victory.
SPU shot 36.6 percent (15-for-41) from the field and held Stony Brook to 34.5 percent (19-for-55), but the Peacocks were outrebounded 39-27 and turned the ball over 13 times.
The Peacocks finished last season with a 3-27 overall record and 2-18 MAAC mark. Saint Peter's was predicted to finish last in the 11-team MAAC conference this season.
The Mountain Hawks aim to remain unbeaten against the Peacocks in Tuesday's game. Lehigh holds a 4-0 advantage in the short history between the two squads, which began in 2010.
