Lehigh looks to rebound at Albany Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will travel to the University at Albany on Saturday to take on the Great Danes in a 7 p.m. match. The Mountain Hawks seek their first win and aim to rebound off a tough 1-0 loss at Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday.
Lehigh dropped to 0-2 on Tuesday at Fairleigh Dickinson as the Knights scored the decisive goal in the first 30 seconds of the game. The Mountain Hawks played a hard-fought game but couldn't overcome the early deficit. Lehigh had five shots on goal throughout the game, while the Knights only recorded three. Senior captain James Meyerkord, freshman Danny Gonzalez and junior Brian Suchoski led the way for the Mountain Hawks with two shots apiece.
Albany will enter Saturday's game with an 0-2 season record. The Great Danes opened their season last weekend by playing in the Ryan Rossi Memorial Tournament in Northridge, Calif. where they dropped matches to Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton by scores of 3-0 and 2-1, respectively. Junior Dominic McGarr scored the lone goal for the Great Danes, and sophomore Anthony Rozzano leads the team with five shots. Tim Allen and Eric Oroloio have split the time in goal for Albany recording a combined 12 saves.
Lehigh leads the all-time series against Albany, 1-0-1. The last meeting took place in 2011 and the Mountain Hawks came away victorious by a score of 2-0. Suchoski scored his first-career goal as a Mountain Hawk during the victory.
After Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks will return home to begin a two game homestand. They will host Drexel on Thursday, September 12, and Yale on Sunday, September 15.
