BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Eying its first Patriot League win of the season, the Lehigh field hockey team kicks off a busy weekend on Saturday against new league member Boston University. Gametime is set for 12 p.m. On Sunday, the Mountain Hawks welcome Atlantic 10 member Lock Haven for a 1 p.m. showdown. Both games will be played at Ulrich Field and will air on the Patriot League Network.

Despite owning a 2-10 record, Lehigh has been extremely competitive and in every game this season. One example of its progress is last time out when the Mountain Hawks turned an 8-0 loss to Rider last season into a tight 3-2 game that went down to the wire.

Going into Saturday, Lehigh stands at 0-2 in Patriot League play, but with four games still remaining and an opportunity to get itself right back into the league's postseason picture.

In the Mountain Hawks' hard-fought 3-2 loss to Rider Sunday, freshman Gabby Tofig had a goal and an assist with classmate Marissa Glatt notching the other goal. Lehigh tied the score midway through the second half, but a hard, low shot by Nicole Hareau off a penalty corner proved to be the game winner.

Glatt leads the Mountain Hawks and is tied for the Patriot League lead in goals (9) and points (16), respectively. Tofig is right behind with 10 points (four goals, two assists).

Lehigh faces a strong Terrier team that has played well in its first season in the Patriot League. Boston University comes in at 7-4 overall and 2-1 in league play. The team suffered a 3-1 loss to #13 nationally-ranked UMass on Sunday, playing that contest less than 48 hours after securing a 2-0 shutout against Holy Cross.

The Terriers are led by the goal-scoring duo of freshman Amanda Cassera and sophomore Sofi Laurito. The two have combined for 20 points behind five goals apiece. Senior Anne Fruitema has also played a key role in Boston University's success, adding 10 points of her own behind four goals and two assists.

Lehigh has never faced Boston University.

On Sunday, the Mountain Hawks welcome a Lock Haven team sporting a 10-2 overall record and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Bald Eagles will look to extend that streak on Friday when they take on Saint Francis (Pa.) before heading to Lehigh two days later. Their only losses have come to nationally-ranked North Carolina and Penn State.

Lock Haven is led by senior Kelly Harsh who's notched 15 points on the season behind six goals and three assists. Sophomore Nakira Downes has 15 points of her own behind five goals and five assists. Lock Haven has been anchored in goal all season by junior Elaina White. White comes into the weekend giving up just 1.09 goals per game.

The Mountain Hawks are winless all-time against the Bald Eagles (0-5) with their last meeting coming in 2006.

Following the weekend, Lehigh heads to New York for a two-game swing, beginning with a trip to Colgate on Saturday, Oct. 19 before heading to Cornell a day later.
