BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a tremendous season, the Lehigh men's lacrosse team has continued to earn impressive recognition by media outlets looking ahead to 2013. The Mountain Hawks have been ranked as high as fifth nationally (by Inside Lacrosse and Lacrosse Magazine) in early preseason rankings. Lehigh returns most of its roster in 2013, including All-American goalie Matt Poillon, its entire starting close defense and top two scorers.
Here's a complete rundown of where Lehigh stands in numerous early 2013 rankings (click on the links to read each complete story).

The Mountain Hawks find themselves in elite company, only behind the Final Four teams of 2012: Loyola, Maryland, Duke and Notre Dame. In its first-ever NCAA Tournament, Lehigh hung neck-and-neck before dropping a 10-9 heartbreaker to eventual National Finalist Maryland. The Terrapins went on to beat Johns Hopkins and Duke in convincing fashion (11-5 and 16-10) to advance to the Championship Game.
The 2012 season saw Lehigh beat three NCAA Tournament teams: then #4 North Carolina, Ivy League Champion Yale and a Colgate squad which ended UMass' perfect season in the NCAA Tournament. The Mountain Hawks also topped the same Penn State team that defeated Final Four participant Notre Dame.
