Women’s track and field earns All-Academic status

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's track and field program has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction, as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday. Teams must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher to be recognized; the Mountain Hawks came in with an impressive 3.22 showing.This marks the fifth consecutive season the women's squad has earned the honor. Overall, 164 Division I programs were recognized. Lehigh was one of only three Patriot League squads on the list, along with Bucknell and Lafayette.
The Patriot League recognized 27 student-athletes earlier this summer with inclusion on its Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the honor roll, a student-athlete must obtain at least a 3.2 GPA. Leading the Mountain Hawks were Lisa Glover, Brittany Pietrosh, Lauren Pietrosh and Catherine Tobiasen, who all posted 4.0 GPAs in the spring.
In addition, recently-graduated Katherine Pierce was named to the inaugural Academic All-Patriot League Team for both indoor and outdoor track and field.
