DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Lehigh baseball team (4-3) split a pair of games with the Miami Red Hawks on Sunday afternoon in Davenport, Fla. The Mountain Hawks are 2-1 so far on their spring break trip, and will look to earn a third win over Bowling Green on Monday morning.
In the first game, Miami earned a 20-2 victory, as they banged out 13 hits compared to the Mountain Hawks' six. Lehigh really could get into no rhythm, as it trailed 9-0 after two innings of play. The Brown and White did get two runs in the last inning, as Kevin Mihalik scored on a Sean Kileen groundout. Austin Borden would then score on a Jeff Wiand single.
“I think our guys were very resilient after the first game today,” said head coach Sean Leary. “I am really glad with the way they bounced back. They showed a lot of character in the second game after that tough loss the first time.”
In game two, Leary handed the ball to Jordan Warncke, who threw a gem. The senior tossed five innings, giving up just two hits and one earned run. He also punched out five batters in a 6-5 Lehigh victory. Andrew Russell and Brandon Pifer each collected two hits in the win.
The Mountain Hawks came out and put up a three spot in the first inning. With two outs, Russell ripped a double down the right field line. Mihalik then followed with a base hit to score Russell. Mihalik, who would advance to second on a wild pitch, scored on Wiand's base hit to make the score 2-0 in favor of Lehigh. Pifer finished the three-run inning with an RBI single.

Logan Winchester RBI singled in the second inning to make the score 4-1, followed by a Ryan Gajdos RBI double in the third inning. Lehigh had a 6-1 lead and that would be all it would need at that point. Cory Kent came in and secured a 6-5 victory for the Mountain Hawks.
Lehigh will be back in action at 11 a.m. tomorrow in a matchup with Bowling Green.
