Ciez and Lemon garner Patriot League weekly track laurels

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a strong team showing at the Mountain Hawk Multi and Invite this past weekend, two Lehigh track and field athletes were recognized with Patriot League Weekly Awards, which were announced Monday afternoon. Sophomore E'Lana Lemon and freshman Patrick Ciez won awards as Lemon won female field athlete of the week and Ciez won male rookie of the week.
Lemon won her third Field Athlete of the Week award of the season, placing third in the weight throw with an ECAC qualifying mark of 16.12 meters at the Mountain Hawk Multi and Invite. Lemon has competed in four meets this season and has won the weight throw in two of them. The last time she won was back on December 10 when Lemon had a winning throw of 15.46 meters, .07 behind her effort the previous week in the Lehigh season-opener and .15 behind the ECAC qualifying standard.
On the men's side, Ciez posted a 2.04 meter leap in the high jump which was good for a first place finish.The 2.04 meter jump was an IC4A qualifying standard in the high jump for Ciez. This is the first award for Ciez.
The Mountain Hawks will host will host its final two indoor meets, the Lafayette Dual on Jan. 29 and the Covert Classic, on February 5. The Patriot League Indoor Championships are slated for Feb. 18 in Annapolis, Md.
