BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team returns to action on Friday when the Mountain Hawks head west to take on the Bucknell Bison underneath the lights in a Patriot League showdown.  Lehigh will be looking to get back in the win column after suffering a 12-4 setback at Colgate on April 10, while the Bison will also look to shake off a loss after they fell to Army 7-6 in overtime that same day.  Both teams are entering the stretch run of their seasons as Lehigh has only three regular season games remaining and Bucknell has just two left.

Lehigh’s offense has been led this season by freshman Dante Fantoni (20 goals, 11 assists) and Cameron Lao-Gosney (20 goals, seven assists).  Brian Bienemann (16), Adam Johnston (16) and Roman Lao-Gosney (11) have also scored double digit goals, while freshman David DiMaria is the team leader in assists with 17.  Junior Will Scudder continues to be a force in the X for Lehigh, as he currently ranks tenth in America with a .590 face-off win percentage and he also leads the Mountain Hawks in ground balls with 57.

Senior Evan Guerrero (22) and junior Rich Bradley (12) lead Lehigh in caused turnovers, while in goal freshman Dan Carr has played a team-high 532 minutes and sent back 87 shots, and sophomore Conor Murphy, who has started the last two games, has stopped 34 shots in 188 minutes of action.  As a team Lehigh ranks in the top-ten nationally in man-down defense (six) and man-up offense (four).

Bucknell’s five losses this season have come by a total of just five goals.  Three of those setbacks have come in overtime including the setback to Army last weekend.  Austin Winter has led Bucknell on offense with 35 points, including 15 goals and 20 assists, while Ryan Klipstein is the team leader with 28 goals.  Jake Clarke has the taken the bulk of the face-offs for the Bison and won 93-of-156 (59.6%), and he also leads Bucknell in ground balls with 61.  Alex Lyons has caused a team-high 29 turnovers and in goal Kyle Feeney has started nine games and sent back 96 shots in 557 minutes of action.

Lehigh and Bucknell will be meeting for the 41st time with the Bison holding a 30-10 lead.  The Mountain Hawks last win in the series was a 7-5 victory at home in 2006, and their last win in Lewisburg came back in 1998.

Lehigh and Bucknell will get things started at 7:30 on Friday evening from Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg.
