Women's Tennis hosts Lehigh Fall Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In its final event of the fall season, the Lehigh women's tennis team hosted the Lehigh Fall Championships Saturday and Sunday on the Goodman Campus. The Mountain Hawks battled windy conditions and a pair of tough opponents as Lehigh competed against Fordham and Delaware in singles and doubles.
Lehigh enjoyed better success against the Rams, winning two of six singles matches. Sophomore Abbey Perl posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Monika Chao, while freshman Kathleen Larkin downed Jenny Mullen 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Trish Muething pushed Bethany Boyle to three sets but ultimately fell 11-9 in the third set ten-point tiebreak.Doubles play was not kind of the Brown and White as Lehigh went 0-7 in doubles action against the Rams and Fightin' Blue Hens. Delaware also won six singles matches from the Mountain Hawks.
The Mountain Hawks will now shift focus towards the spring season which will begin in late January.
