Trenge reclaims top spot

Bethlehem, PA- Lehigh is ranked No. 5 nationally for the second week in the latest set of polls released by InterMat and the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
Junior Jon Trenge improves to a No. 1 ranking at 197 after his exciting win over former No. 1 Muhammad Lawal of Oklahoma State at the NWCA All-Star Classic. Troy Letters at 165 also moves up a spot to a No. 3 ranking. The freshman competed alongside Trenge at the NWCA All-Star Classic and beat No. 5 Johnny Clark of Ohio State 19-14. Freshman Derek Zinck holds onto a No. 7 ranking at 157, as does No. 8 freshman Cory Cooperman at 133. Juniors Brad Dillon and Joe Sahl along with freshman Travis Frick maintain their previous rankings. Dillon is ranked No. 8/9 at 174 while Frick at 184 is ranked No. 10/11. Sahl in the heavyweight class keeps his No. 15/19 ranking.
Lehigh hosts N.C. State on Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 6 Cornell on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Stabler Arena. Both matches will be broadcast live on the Lehigh website at www.lehigh.edu and on 1230 AM, The Sports Monster. The Cornell match will be televised live on both Service Electric Cable TV-2 and on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh. Viewers with DirecTV can find the broadcast on channel 628. Saturday is also Jon Trenge Bobblehead Day. The first 500 fans receive a free Trenge bobblehead. Doors open at noon.
