Lehigh hard at work preparing for 2007 season

“I’m pleased with how things have gone so far,” said fifth year head coach Julie Mazer. “Our leadership has been good throughout camp; the team chemistry has gotten better every day. Our freshmen have been impressive, and it looks like we’re coming together as a team, which was one of our goals coming into the preseason.”
A key part of the freshman class has been goalkeepers Jess Miller and Lilia Stefaniwsky, both of whom were impressive in Lehigh’s scrimmage against Villanova last Saturday.
“I was impressed by the initiative shown by both keepers,” noted Mazer. “They both played well, and did not look like freshmen out there which was good for a first scrimmage.
Mazer continues, “For the whole team, the first scrimmage was a good first step, and a good gauge of where we are. I was pleased with the way we were able to make some adjustments in the second half, and how those adjustments led to more offense.”

“There’s still a lot of work to do,” said Mazer. “We had a good first full week, and the work ethic seems to be there. We just need to keep working towards getting better every day.”
