Lehigh blanks Lafayette for first league win

In the 60th minute, Lehigh finally pushed ahead when Erdman was unable to handle a centering pass from freshman Glynn Fitzer. Carlos tapped in the loose ball for her team-leading fourth goal of the season to put Lehigh up 1-0.
Lehigh added an insurance goal with just over five minutes to play, when senior Jen Fetsick collected the ball in the box after a corner and fired a shot to the bottom left corner for her third goal of the year. Montalvo and senior Anndrea Yetter were credited with assists on the play. Fetsick led the charge offensively for Lehigh with 10 shots, including four on goal.
“In the big picture, this was an important win for us,” said Lehigh head coach Manny Oudin. “We needed to get three points out of this game, and we were able to do so. It’s frustrating to have so many chances and not finish them, but we did get a league win at home and that should help us as we get ready for next week.”
