Lehigh gets back on winning track in Florida

Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Lehigh got back in the win column on Tuesday evening as the Mountain Hawks took their skills to Florida on spring break and came away with a 15-7 victory over St. Joe’s.  Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks was Greg Morin with four goals and one assist, while Andrew Lucas added three scores and an assist.  With the victory, Lehigh moves back over .500 on the season, to 3-2, while the Hawks drop to 1-3 n 2005.

 

Scoring goals for the Mountain Hawks on the evening were Blake Best with three, Greg Furst with two and one each from Alec Hoof, Jeff Wiener, and Robbie Walsh.  In addition to Morin and Lucas, assists came from Furst with two, Best, Tim Higgins, Hoof, Walsh and Wiener.  In goal for the Brown and White, freshman Eric Spirko continued his brilliant play, sending back13 St. Joe’s shots on the evening, while senior Tom Ellis saw some time and stopped two shots in the game. 

 

St. Joe’s was led on offense by Keegan Wilkinson, Steve O’Brien and Andrew Four with two goals each, while Wilkinson handed out two assists.  Lehigh out shot the Hawks 32-17 for the game, and scooped up a gaudy 34 ground balls to the Hawks ten.  The Brown and White won 18 of 25 face offs and were 16 of 19 on clears, while St. Joe’s was 17 of 28 on clears.

 

Lehigh returns to action on Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks welcome Siena to the Ulrich Sports Complex.  Game time is set for 2:30.
