Lehigh impressive in 15-2 win over Siena

David Gaunt scored the game’s first goal, but not until 27 seconds were showing on the clock in the first quarter. Lehigh would take that lead into the second quarter, where the Mountain Hawks started to open up that lead, as Morin and Hoof scored three goals in a span of three minutes to put the Mountain Hawks up four. Chris Padden got the Saints on the board with a score at the 7:46 mark, but Lehigh came right back with a goal by Robert Shrader, three by Lucas and one by Kevin Houk to go into halftime ahead 8-1.
Morin opened the second half scoring with a goal just 1:28 into the third quarter, and Blake Best added a score of his own at the 11:42 mark to put the Brown and White in front 10-1. Lucas would score his fourth and final goal of the contest at the
Moran netted both of his goals in the final
Lehigh was 14 of 20 on face offs and 10 of 13 on clear attempts, while
Head coach Chris Wakely was happy following the win, but knows that a tough road lies ahead for Lehigh. “We’re getting out there, we’re starting to find a rhythm. The guys are starting to believe more and that belief leads to confidence, which in turn leads to more success.” Wakely continues, “A lot of guys got the opportunity to play today and they handled it well for us. With Penn coming in here, and then Navy, we have a tough stretch of the schedule ahead of us. Penn is a very well coached team, they are athletic and it’s going to be a tough game. But I think our guys are ready for the challenge and excited for the opportunity.”
Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when the Mountain Hawks welcome No. 25 Penn to the Ulrich Sports Complex. Game time is slated for 4
