Mountain Hawks pick up first two wins of spring season

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh picked up its first two victories of the spring season on Sunday, as the Mountain Hawks topped Howard and Towson at the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Haws wrapped up their opening weekend of spring play with a 2-1 record. Howard falls to 0-3 while Towson is 0-1.

 

Against Howard, the Mountain Hawks earned the first point, taking two of three doubles contests. Starr Foster and Alexis Jacobi teamed for a win as did Maria Anorga and Lindsay Long. The Brown and White were victorious in four of six singles matches. Gwen Dwyer picked up a win at second singles, then Foster, Cessa Murasko-Blank and Anorga put together three straight wins at  fourth, fifth and sixth singles respectively as the Mountain Hawks won by a 5-2 margin.

 

Lehigh topped Towson by a 6-1 score as the Mountain Hawks took two doubles matches and five of six singles matches. Starr Foster picked up two more victories as she completed a 4-for-4 Sunday of tennis.

 

The Mountain Hawks will be back in action next weekend, hosting Albany Saturday at 2:00 and then Stony Brook Sunday at 1:00.
