Ellen Sweet enters her second year on the Mountain Hawks’ coaching staff after graduating from Lehigh in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Structural Engineering at Lehigh.
Sweet began as a walk-on rower with no previous experiencing, joining the Lehigh program in the fall of 2005, and certainly made her mark on the program. Her freshman year, Sweet was a member of the Novice Women’s Eight that won Silver at the Dad Vail Regatta, missing Gold by just 0.90 seconds. She was also part of the Women’s Varsity Eight crew that finished first in the Petite Finals at the San Diego Crew Classic in 2007. Sweet earned a varsity letter her sophomore year and was a four-year rower under Paul Savell and Liz Meltzer.
Strong in the classroom, Sweet was on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in the spring of 2007 and 2009, earning the Coaches Award her senior year.
