Adam Coffman joined the Lehigh swimming and Diving coaching staff in 2024.

Prior to Lehigh, he has had 27 years of coaching under his belt. He spent nine years as the head coach of East Stroudsburg High School, four years as East Stroudsburg University’s assistant coach, five years as the strength and conditioning coach and triathlon/duathlon coach at No Limits Personal Training, and nine years as USA Swimming’s Lead senior coach.

At the high school level, he has coached multiple district and state champions across several events. Within club swimming, his athletes have advanced to Junior Nationals, Nationals, and the U.S. Olympic Trials. In triathlon, he has coached USAT national qualifiers and champions in both short-course and long-course duathlon, including an athlete who went on to place second in the world at the Duathlon World Championships.

The North Eastern Pennsylvania native competed as a swimmer for four years at Clarion University, contributing to three PSAC team championships. Beyond collegiate athletics, he is an Ironman triathlete, a Spartan Ultra World Championships competitor, and an elite competitor in other obstacle-course races. He holds a third-degree San-Dan in martial arts and has completed numerous marathons and half marathons, including the demanding Pikes Peak Ascent.

From the time he was a competitive swimmer, he was passionate about helping others find success. He decided to become a teacher and coach to support the development of the entire person.
