It was the perfect balance between academic prestige and a successful soccer program, which made it a simple decision.
 
ON COACH KOSKI
Coach Koski always wants his players and pupils to learn and grow not only as soccer players, but also as students and people. He always has his players’ interests in mind and stresses the importance of getting an education while playing soccer.

2016 (SENIOR SEASON)
Started 13 of the 14 games he played…assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Fordham (10/18)…played 90-plus minutes nine times during the season.

2015 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Played in all 22 games while making 16 starts at several different positions…played every minute of Lehigh’s four postseason games to help the Mountain Hawks to their second-ever league crown…scored Lehigh’s lone goal in a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Bucknell (10/31)…named the recipient of the team’s Scholar-Athlete and Coaches Awards at the end-of-season banquet…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2014 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Saw action in all 19 games, making seven starts…finished the season with seven points behind three goals and an assist…scored a pair of goals in Lehigh’s 4-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson (10/21)…scored Lehigh’s lone goal in a 1-1 double-overtime draw against nationally-ranked Navy (10/29)…recorded a total of 15 shots, seven of which were on goal…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2013 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Started in nine games and appeared in 15 during his strong rookie campaign…scored his first career goal against Loyola to propel Lehigh to a 1-0 win over the Greyhounds … assisted Lehigh’s lone goal at Navy to finish the season with three points…recorded a total of 20 shots, 11 of which were on goal… named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE LEHIGH
Giammatteo is a competitive, passionate player that will join the Mountain Hawk defense …two-time National Champion as well as four-time N.J. Prep School Champion at St. Benedict’s Prep…team finished ranked No. 1 in the country in Elite Soccer Report’s National Rankings…Captain for team in his senior year…was named first team All Prep and first team All State…plays club soccer for PDA in the US Soccer Academy system…in 2012 he played in 27 matches, started 23 as PDA won the Liberty Division…will study Engineering at Lehigh.
