FEATURE STORY: Tackling Lehigh…times two
WHY LEHIGH? “I chose Lehigh because it offers an Ivy League caliber education along with great athletics and a beautiful campus. Also, they gave me the opportunity to play both lacrosse and football which is something a lot of schools would not do.”
AS A SENIOR (2015): Played in three games in his return to the team, at Monmouth (3/24), at Holy Cross (3/28) and on Senior Night vs. Lafayette (4/17).
AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Got into one game, against Holy Cross (3/24).
BEFORE LEHIGH: Rare two-sport collegiate athlete, Mitchell is also on the Mountain Hawks’ football team … Was also a wrestling standout in high school as a two-time MVP and fourth-place finisher in the Tennessee State Wrestling Tournament … Earned lacrosse Most Improved Player recognition … Helped lead his squad to the 2009 MSLA (Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Association) Championship; team finished as runner-up in 2010 … Honorable mention All-MSLA honoree … Played for Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio before moving to Memphis, Tennessee his senior year where he played for Christian Brothers High School … Was a two-time football MVP and is currently an outside linebacker for Lehigh.
PERSONAL: Son of Robert Mitchell and Dawanna Taylor; stepson of Loretta Robertson … Has three siblings: Justin Robertson, Joshua Robertson and Tiera Mitchell.
